The pioneer cheerleaders, trained since Primary One, entered the National Cheerleading Competition after just two years of preparation, exemplifying remarkable HER3OIC values and enthusiasm. Their success is a testament to the teamwork, emphasizing coordination and trust, both in and out of the competition area. They even wowed the President at the Istana Open House, with their synchronized performance in the presidential palace.
“Dance was one of our first Sports Education Programme. Through the programme, I saw that some of our students were really flexible and had the rhythm in them. Instead of a conventional dance team, I thought our school could stand out from the rest by forming the first primary school cheerleading team in the South Zone. It incorporated both dance and stunts and the showmanship would lift the spirit of everyone in the audience. Its novelty was a hit with all who attended the first Achievers’ Day and the cheerleading team has performed every year since then.”
