California Ag License Plate
In April 2013, the first CalAgPlates were issued by the DMV — establishing the California Agriculture Special Interest License Plate. The issuance of the plates was approximately a three-year effort that first began in 2010. For a Special Interest License Plate to be established, more than 7,500 paid reservations needed to be received. As a result of the continued efforts of many student volunteers and agricultural organizations the 2019 program was made possible.
Annual revenue generated from the original purchase and renewal of CalAgPlates helps to support the CalAgPlate Grant Program. This grant program anticipates making $250,000 available on an annual basis to support agricultural education in California.
You can help support agricultural education and the CalAgPlate program by purchasing a special interest license plate at your local DMV office or online today.
Drive-Thru BBQs
Drive-Thru BBQs
Several time throughout the year, Alturas FFA puts on Drive-Thru BBQs. Meals include Tri-tip (whole or half), baked potatoes, rolls, salad, and a cookie! $55 for a family of 4, $35 for a half order, or $25 for just the whole tri-tip! Tickets are pre-sale only. The funds raised go directly to FFA for travel, conferences, and other opportunities. The tri-tip is famous around here; look for ticket sales!!

Every year, Alturas FFA hosts our annual plant sale, out of our very own greenhouse! These plants are planted and cared for by the horticulture class. These students work hard to ensure the upkeep of this greenhouse, and strive to guarantee a successful sale. With a wide variety of plants offered, it is certain there will be something for everyone! All proceeds go straight back to our FFA chapter!

Ag Floral Design students sell floral subscriptions at the beginning of each semester or they can be purchased throughout the year. They are created monthly by our floral students. Funds raised go directly to the students for purchasing floral materials and giving students hands-on opportunities! Pick them up at MHS that day or request for local delivery. Arrangement days vary each month but are posted on social media when arrangements are finished and ready! During the Fall, you can purchase 4 arrangements (Sept-Dec) for $80 or single arrangements for $25. During the Spring, you can purchase 4 arrangements (Feb-May) for $80 or single arrangements for $25. Our arrangements are always different each month and always made by students!
