About the Instructor

My name is Jeff Stuart, and I love teaching physical education and encouraging students to lead healthy lifestyles! After graduating from Virginia Tech with a BSED, I taught physical education in Fairfax and Montgomery Counties. Upon receiving a MAED in Curriculum and Instruction, I moved into the classroom to teach fifth grade. Although I enjoyed the challenges of helping student improve their math and reading skills, I was given the opportunity to help promote the wellness of our children, who too often become absorbed in today’s electronic temptations. I recently achieved National Board Certification which has further improved my ability to serve our students' health and physical education needs.

With an innate love of learning and moving, I hope to explore a wide variety of lifetime sports and recreational activities with the CES students. Although I have a background in coaching basketball, soccer, and tennis, I also like to swim, hike, kayak, walk, and work in my raised garden beds.
