As a friendly reminder, please try labeling all of your child's snow gear so if it left behind, we can get it back to them! This will help limit the amount of clothes in our lost & found!
As we wrap up the last two weeks at UCS, it’s been wonderful to see students fully engaged as we begin a new quarter of learning. Classrooms have been busy with goal-setting, reflection, and renewed routines, all while continuing to strengthen our sense of community, especially through our SEL Fridays, where students connect, collaborate, and grow together. I also want to remind you that report cards were sent home in a manila envelope this afternoon. Please direct any questions you may have to your student's classroom teacher.
This past week also included some exciting and memorable experiences. Students had a blast cheering on the UVM Women’s Basketball Team to a victory at Patrick Gym; an energizing outing that showcased school spirit and community pride. Back at school, we continued our learning by exploring the story of Snowflake Bentley while diving into our theme of the month: honesty, led by Mrs. Jones’ class at All-School Morning Meeting. This thoughtful lesson helped students reflect on integrity, truthfulness, and the importance of doing the right thing.
Looking ahead, Snow Motion at Cochran’s begins next Thursday, and we’re excited for students to take part in this seasonal experience. With temperatures expected to drop this weekend, we hope everyone stays warm and safe while enjoying all that winter has to offer.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support and partnership. We appreciate all you do to help make UCS such a special place to learn and grow.

GIRLS on the RUN is BACK!
We’re getting ready for another amazing season of Girls on the Run at UCS, but we need your help! We’re looking for volunteer coaches to help lead this fun, empowering program for 3rd and 4th grade girls. The season typically begins in March and runs two days a week after school, ending around 3:45 PM. The program wraps up with an inspiring Celebration 5K on Saturday, May 30, as part of the Essex 5K! Don’t worry if you can’t commit to both days, we’re very flexible and would love to have you join us even if you can only help one day a week!
If you’re interested in coaching, please reach out to Head Coach Abbie Bernier at abigail.bernier@mmuusd.org for more information and fill out the coach volunteer form.
We’re also trying to gauge interest for this year’s team! If your 3rd or 4th grade girl would like to participate, please complete the interest form: GOTRVT Participant Interest Form.
Please note: this is not the official registration, just a way for us to plan for the number of participants. Let’s make this another great season of fun, friendship, and running!
