Math Is Cool - Volunteer Proctors Needed (EVENT PASSED)

- Where: MLHS Library
- When: April 26th and/or May 17th (Saturdays)
- Time: 7 am - 3 pm (8 hours)
- Food (donutes & pizza) provided at no charge for volunteers by Math Is Cool.

Lakeshore Cleanup @ Montlake Park (EVENT PASSED)

Help keep our parks and shoreline litter-free!

- Meet up at Montlake Park (401 Linden Ave, Moses Lake, WA 98837)
- Saturday, March 22nd
- 8am - 12 pm
- Sign up here!

Wear clothes you can get dirty and waterproof boots (if you have them).

- Rubber gloves and garbage bags will be provided

Pizza will be provided after the community service event.

PALS Prom (EVENT PASSED)

Help make prom special for our PALS students! Volunteer for PALS Prom at:

- Youth Dynamics (106 E 3rd Ave, Moses Lake, WA 98837)
- Friday, March 21st
- 6-8pm (There are three "shifts" to choose)

STEM Nights (EVENT PASSED)

Get some volunteer hours by helping out with a STEM event at Garden Heights Elementary for elementary age kids and their families!

There are 3 events coming up:

Jan 21st (Tues.) from 5:00 - 7:30 pm (SENIORS ONLY; NOT TRIO Supervised)
Feb. 27th (Thurs.) from 5:00 - 7:30 pm (TRIO Supervised)
Apr 3rd (Thurs.) from 4:45 - 7:30 pm This event is at AeroTEC (TRIO Supervised)

Transportation will not be provided for the first two STEM Nights, so students are welcome to stay after school until it is time to go and we will all walk over to Garden Heights Elementary together. Students will need to be picked up from there. TRIO staff will only be supervising the February & April events.

Transportation will only be provided for the April 3 STEM Night.

TRIO Recruitment @ MLHS (Event Passed)

Must be a 2nd-year TRIO students or older to sign up for recruitment.

Earn community service hours and SOS Team points by helping TRIO recruit 8th graders to join TRIO next year! You can sign up for one or more of the following dates:

- Thursday, Feb. 20 | Curriculum Night at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
- Monday, Feb. 24 | 8th Grade Registration at 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
- Tuesday, Feb. 25 | 8th Grade Registration at 4:30 pm - 8:30 pm
- Sign up HERE to select your recruitment day(s)!

There is a MANDATORY recruitment training meeting on Feb. 13 at 3 pm (at MLHS) to prepare for these events.

Dinner will be provided on each recruitment day!

No transportation will be provided as these events take place at MLHS.

Wear your TRIO shirts for the day(s) you volunteer at the recruitment events!

Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation (EVENT PASSED)

Here is an awesome volunteering opportunity for juniors/seniors. Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation is hosting an annual fundraiser during which they will serve dinner and have a silent auction.

Please note: TRIO staff will not be supervising at this event and students must provide their own transportation to and from the event. Below are listed the volunteering jobs and the time commitment:

4 Silent Auction Helpers: pull bid sheets and run paperwork to check in as well as stage items after silent auction closes. | 4pm-9pm on Feb 1st
2 Garbage/Support: manage the garbage in both buildings, roam the event to see if anything needs to be picked up, put away or if anyone needs help. | 4pm-9pm on Feb 1st

TRIO Staff will make final volunteer selections & assignments and notify all those who apply by January 28th!

Buddy Walk (EVENT PASSED)

Earn 3 hours of community service by volunteering at the Buddy Walk!

The event is from 3 pm - 5pm, however, volunteers will need to arrive an hour early at 2 pm to help set up.

Details can be found in the flyer to the right and in the September Monthly Newsletter.

While TRIO UB is not supervising or sponsoring this event, to sign up as a volunteer, TRIO students must get in contact with TRIO Staff who will connect you to TRIO's Buddy Walk liaison.

Again, those who volunteer will need to provide their own rides to/from the event.
