Our mission is to provide opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. We provide services through weekly meetings, trips, events, and summer programming. The goal is to encourage success throughout high school and prepare them for post-secondary education.
This grant has been 100% federally funded by the United States Department of Education to serve 63 scholars annually in the amount of $277,134 (2017-18); $288,912 (2018-19); $301,913 (2019-20) and so forth per year for a period of five years.
Through our provided services, the students will achieve the following:
Competitive GPA
Competitive SAT and ACT scores
Passing state tests at the college-ready level
Competitive College Admissions Exams and Placement Scores
Enrollment and completion of rigorous courses, ideally within the areas of interest and their strengths
Graduate high school on time
Enter college the fall after high school graduation
Graduate college with an Associate's, Bachelor's, or higher degree within 6 years of their high school graduation
Students will be required to participate throughout the year & take action to maintain motivation to pursue a college education. They will be required to maintain communication with TRIO Upward Bound staff & participate in summer programming for at least 2 weeks.
