The unprecedented events occurring at this time can be upsetting and dysregulating. Previous and current life stressors can have an additional impact. We encourage you to pay attention to how you are feeling and take steps to regulate stress. You can use our attached Family Stress Continuum and Family Strategies for Stress guides which are adapted from leading child traumatologist, Dr. Bruce Perry. These guides have useful information about navigating stress and useful links for available resources. If students need emotional support, you can refer them to the Oregon Youth Line at https://oregonyouthline.org/. You can also refer them to trauma-informed school specialist Alfonso Ramírez at aramirez@ttsd.k12.or.us.
If you want to access immediate support, you can contact: The Washington County Crisis Line 503-291-9111.
