This week, we will continue to explore Informative texts. We are examining key text features using an informative text on Uluru, with a focus on the features (such as sub heading, photographs and real information). We will continue to practise using our best “reader’s voice.”
We will also begin a new text in our Storybook lessons called The Snail and the Whale, focusing on making predictions, vocabulary and answering questions.
This week, students will begin to explore writing an informative text. This will align with our reading where we will research a particular animal, record facts using a graphic organiser, then write an informative text using the features we have learnt about. They will have the opportunity shared their work in the Author’s Chair, using feedback from their peers to make edits and improvements.
In Maths, we are revising place value concepts for two-digit and three-digit numbers. We will be focusing on making, recording and comparing three-digit numbers using place value form, expanded form and standard form.
We are also be looking at tell the time to the hour, and drawing the hands to the hour on an analog clock.
In spelling this week, students will be focusing on the following:

In Wellbeing, we are continuing our Friendology program! Throughout the year, Friendology will assist our students to build strong, healthy friendships and a positive sense of self.
This week, we will focus on the four friendship facts: These four facts help kids know what is normal in their friendships so that they have realistic expectations.
