This week students will be identifying features of imaginative texts and their purpose. They will also be setting up their book boxes and Readers' Notebooks.
This week students will be putting ideas in their Writers' Notebook to help them with their holiday writing (recount). We will be talking about "what good writers do" when writing.
This week students will be doing some activities around place value, so we can gain information about their current point of need. Data will also be explored using students' Birthdays, creating tallies and bar graphs as a class.

Child writes the word, saying each sound as he/she writes.
Draw child’s attention to the target phonic pattern.
Help child choose the correct spelling pattern if there are options.
We will also be focusing on the word until.

** Differentiated learning will be present in each class to cater for all students individual learning requirements.
The first 2 weeks we have been focusing our lessons on CHAMPS (Celebrating Harmony at Mitcham Primary School).
Creating Harmony at Mitcham Primary School (CHAMPS) is our start of year program designed to build connections between students in classes and across cohorts. They re-introduce students to;
-school values
-positive behaviour expectations
-mindset to learning
-recognising themselves as their own hero
Students have been doing an amazing job contributing their ideas and getting involved!
