Is the system supplied water by a pressurized source or is it tank fed?
Tank-fed: Proceed to Tank-fed Water Source Inspection.
Pressurized source: Proceed to the next step-
Visually inspect the water source: Make sure the water is turned fully on. Make sure lines/hoses are free of leaks. Make sure lines/hoses are not kinked, crimped, blocked, twisted, or being squeezed by any objects pressing against them.
Not Good: address the issue and recheck the operation.
i. Good: issue resolved
ii. Not Good: Proceed to the next step-
Good: Proceed to the next step-
Inspect water source output: Start by disconnecting the source line from the pump inlet. Is proper flow and pressure present?
Not Good: work backward down the line by disconnecting the line between the filter to the pump, the filter(s), any line between the filter and source outlet, and any garden hose between the line and source outlet, one at a time to identify the item restricting water flow. Replace as necessary. (If the source outlet itself is restricted, a professional plumber should be contacted. The Mistcooling system is not the issue.)
Good: Proceed to the next step-
Inspect filter for debris and replacement schedule. An overdue/dirty filter may still interfere with pump operation even if some flow is present.
Not Good: replace the filter. Find filters here.
Good: Proceed to the next step-
Reconnect the known-good water source to the pump inlet, disconnect the outlet line from the pump, and turn on the pump. Does the pump produce the proper flow of water?
No: Replace Pump. Find the pump here.
Good: Proceed to Inspect the Output Section/Misting Line.
Visually inspect output lines and all connections for any physical damages such as bulges, creases, cuts, splits, leaks, etc.
Not Good: Repair/replace as necessary. (For leaks specifically, see Concern 4: leak(s).)
Good: Proceed to the next step-
Inspect system installation/expansion: Does the system match the original system design?
No, the system has been expanded: return the system to the original specifications and recheck the operation:
i. System operates properly: Issue Resolved.
ii. System still doesn’t operate properly: Proceed to the next step-
Yes: Proceed to the next step-
Purge air from the output line: Remove the end plug (or last nozzle) from the misting line, connect the misting line to the pump outlet, and turn the pump on until a steady stream of water, free of air pockets, comes out. Reinstall the end plug/last nozzle and check the operation.
Steps could not be completed. No water comes out with the end plug/last nozzle removed: Remove the misting line from the pump outlet, backflush line with compressed air, and perform this step again. If the step still cannot be completed, Contact a Mistcooling technical support agent through email or by scheduling a call.
Misting returns to normal: Issue resolved.
There is still no mist present or misting is uneven. Remove all misting nozzles and use our Mistcooling Nozzle Cleaner: MC46220. In severe cases, nozzles may still need replacement. If cleaning or replacement of nozzles still does not resolve the issue: Contact a Mistcooling technical support agent through email or by scheduling a call.
Does the arrangement of the tank and pump still match the original system design? (The feed line from the tank to the pump should have no more than 6 feet between the pump inlet and the surface of the water).
No: Please make sure the layout fits the original design. Does proper operation resume?
i. Yes: Issue Resolved.
ii. No: Proceed to the next step-
Yes: Proceed to the next step-
Is the tank full and properly ventilated?
No: Fill the tank and verify proper ventilation. Does proper operation resume?
i. Yes: Issue Resolved.
