OY Seminarians Prepare for Giving Communion to the Sick
On May 22, 2025 the Pastoral Orientation Year seminarians prepare themselves for the visitation of the Sick which is part of the pastoral ministry of the Diocesan Shrine of Santa Martha- San Roque Parish in Pateros, Taguig City. They have been commissioned by the Parish Priest, Fr. Loreto Sanchez, Jr. to give Viaticum to the Sick in Barangay Sta. Ana which is the biggest in the Parish with three communities. The 6 OY seminarians namely: Hacel Taroma, Jhon Clifford Oniong, Charles Steven Josue, John Paul Tacorda, George Kevin Ison, and Eric Anthony Mate will commence their mission of giving Communion to the Sick today. Visiting the sick and giving the Holy Communion to the Sick is one of the most profound ministries of priestly ministry. This is now done by the seminarians in anticipation of their future ministry as priests in the Catholic Church and missionary accompaniment with those who are physically helpless in the community. At the Diocesan Shrine, this mission will be done every Thursday morning.
