Senior Field Trip

Each year, Mansfield High School seniors take a trip to commemorate their final year in grade school. Below, you will find the details about the trip.

Date, Time, & Location

The Senior Field Trip will be to The Fort Worth Zoo on Monday, April 27 during the regular school day. Seniors will meet in the cafeteria at 9:00 a.m.* and return to MHS by 2:55 pm.
*Note that this is Senior Panoramic day and seniors who are participating will meet in the MHS cafeteria after the photo.

Payment

The field trip will cost $11.00, which covers park entry and transportation. All payments are non-refundable, even if a senior loses eligibility (see below).

To access the payment portal on PayK12, visit secure.payk12.com/school/raptor-high/898/item/280616. The portal is only open from February 23 - March 6 and will close permanently on March 6 at 11:00 PM.

Permission Forms

Forms will be available outside the classrooms of Ms. June (U-13) or Mrs. Boydstun (R-13) beginning Monday, February 23. Both sides must be signed and forms must be turned in directly to (i.e., handed to) Ms. June or Mrs. Boydstun no later than Friday, March 6.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to attend the field trip, seniors must meet the following requirements:

Is a current Mansfield High School Class of 2026 senior
Has turned in the two required permission forms with required signatures
Has paid in full
Has not been sent to BIC during the 2025-2026 school year
Has not been assigned to on- or off-campus DAEP during the 2025-2026 school year
Has not received AC during the spring 2026 semester (for any reason)
Is on track to graduate* in terms of academics and attendance, per counselor

Check-In Procedures

All seniors MUST report to the MHS cafeteria no later than 9:00 AM for check in. Every senior will have to be checked in, collect their wrist band and ticket, be assigned to a bus, and checked in on their bus. With hundreds of seniors attending, this process takes time. Therefore, any senior who arrives late, and subsequently slows down the process and departure time, will be disqualified from the trip.

Attendance

The field trip is optional for seniors. Those who choose to attend, meet the requirements to do so, and check in on time, per the instructions above, will receive a school-related field trip absence for the day of the trip. This will NOT count as an absence nor will it count against exemptions.

Lunch

Lunch is NOT included in the cost of the field trip. The Fort Worth Zoo does allow students to bring their own lunch in. Additionally, lunch will be available for purchase via food vendors at the park. NO GLASS will be allowed in the park, so do not pack your lunch with glassware.

Transportation

Students will be transported to and from the field trip by school bus only. NO EXCEPTIONS!
