Modeled on the TEAL classrooms at the University of Massachusetts - Lowell, the Collaborative Learning Lab, or CLL, fosters collaborative, active group-based learning opportunities that are enhanced and supported by technology. In this lab, technology assists and facilitates all the powerful engagement strategies we know gets scholars and colleagues motivated - like:
project-based activities with digital tools
game-based learning and gamified engagement strategies
collaboration with thought leaders from around the world
flexible, modular design to allow for a wide range of learning activities.
Imagine a space where staff can jointly create during collective planning in the morning. By 2nd, the librarian is guiding a class on a virtual field trip to Ancient Egypt. The very next class students are running physics simulations and testing out theories. And by the middle of the afternoon an Apps Development class is creating a health based app to help students make stronger life choices. Your students end their day by connecting with their Congressional Representative from their office in Washington. The building winds down as an after school session begins on the use of collaborative tools in the classroom lead by a member of your CLL School Support Team.
We won’t just drop off the tech and wish you luck. We’ll be there every step of the way to help guide, train, and facilitate student and staff learning. We empower members of your buildings to be engagement and thought leaders in this journey. You provide the academic rigor, and we’ll provide the engagement to accomplish your goals.
