Spring break is March 21-30. See you on March 31!
South Accelerated Academy (SAA) services students who are over-age and credit deficient. SAA provides a non-traditional blended learning environment (project-based learning (PBL) and direct small group instruction) utilizing the competency-based education (CBE) approach. Through CBE, students can accelerate through cross-content instructional design by demonstrating mastery of competencies in each content area that are aligned with state standards.
SAA services Seniors from South Division High School who are behind in credits are no-longer able to graduate with their cohort through a traditional schedule and can demonstrate reading comprehension in English at a grade level of 4.5.
Elligible students will be identified by counselors and social work staff. Students that are interested should see their counselor or Ms. Chavez to schedule a testing date. Tests will be administered at Central Office by appointment throughout the school year. South Division will ask to schedule one testing date to be administered on-site at the school each semester (usually October and March).
SAA utilizes a half-day schedule that runs from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and 12:00 pm to 3:25 pm.
