Multi-Level System of Support (MLSS) is an organizational framework that guides the implementation of a multi-level system of support to achieve academic and behavioral success for all. The MLSS framework includes three essential elements:
High-quality instruction (in MLSS Academics and MLSS PBIS)
Strategic use of data
Collaboration
These three essential elements, embedded with culturally responsive practices and family engagement, supported by both leadership and organizational/team structures, interact within a multi-level system of support.
The founding principle is that, when high quality instruction is given, the student will accelerate learning and close any lagging prerequisite gaps that existed. Through a coherent instructional framework, students can thrive.
MPS follows the guidance of the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction’s Framework for Multi-Level Systems of Support. Appropriate documentation in Infinite Campus (IC) is critical to the success of any instructional and support process.
