Modern Band utilizes popular music as a vehicle for delivering curriculum. It teaches students to perform the music they know and love. Styles include rock, pop, Motown, soul, hip-hop, R&B, electronic dance music and other contemporary styles. Modern Band also utilizes (but is not limited to) the musical instruments that are common to these genres: guitar, bass, drums, piano, voice and technology. Modern Band helps bridge the gap between the music students experience in real life and what they experience in school, allowing them to see their interests reflected in the curriculum.
