The Science of Life

THE SCIENCE OF LIFE    Unleveled 30204

5 credits

This year long course is a review of the major topics of Biology I and their application to the chemistry of life.  Through a lab-based approach, students will begin with units of study covering cell composition and process, genetics and protein synthesis, and evolution and ecology. The second half of the course will focus on topics such as properties of matter, atomic structure, periodicity and bonding in regards to the chemical composition of living things. Emphasis will be given to mastery of the use of dimensional analysis; a type of problem solving used extensively in Chemistry I.
