ENGLISH II    Honors 11401       College Prep 11301

5 credits

English II is a required course that is a sequel to English I and is taken in the sophomore year. Continued skill development in composition, speaking, vocabulary, language, and literary and non-fiction studies are the essential components of this course. Formal grammar is reviewed as necessary; studies in standard English usage extend to include more complex stylistic formats.  The study of literature covers deeper explorations of novels, plays, short stories, essays, and a variety of other forms in prose and poetry.  Writing instruction in academic, practical, and creative forms is given in both group and individual instruction.
