Grading will be based on the evidence provided by the student to show understanding and usage of Science skills.
Triangulation of the quality of the student's work, assessments, participation in discussions, and teacher observation during hands-on activities will be used to determine student's grade.
Possible work:
All work will cover Science NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) standards.
Experiments, Data Analysis Labs, Making Connection Worksheets, Constructed Science Responses, On-line Content Comprehension, Models, and Thinking Maps.
Assessments will be in the form of content quizzes and projects. Students will have a choice with the project platform. Possible examples are Poster, Comic Book, Google Slide, Google Doc, I-Movie with script, etc. Students may suggest other platforms that must be approved by Mr. Justo.
Exceed (A)- All to Majority of evidence shows above and beyond understanding and usage of Science skills.
Proficient (B)- Majority of the evidence shows understanding and consistent usage of Science skills.
Partial Proficient (C)- Majority of the evidence shows some understanding and usage of Science skills.
Novice (D)- Majority of the evidence shows little understanding and usage of Science skills.
Well Below (F)- No evidence to show understanding and usage of Science skills.
Grades will be updated on Infinite Campus. Students and parents are encouraged to check their progress online often.

Review assignment or project performance criteria as given throughout the year.
Parents are encouraged to take their children to visit different ecosystems that can be found near and around, or at the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Bishop Museum, Kaena Point – coral reef, tidal zone, rainforest, grassland, etc.
