Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17, 1706 on 17 Milk street, Boston. He started school but was only able to attend for 2 years before his parents weren't able to fund it anymore. Since he stopped going to school, he had a lot more time to work. Benjamin began an apprenticeship with his brother at age 12. At age 15, he founded the New-England Courant. A newspaper in Boston.
he was remembered as a scientist, writer, publisher, printer, inventor,diplomat, and political philosopher and the first postmaster general. he was the most famous american for signing the declaration of independence, treaty of paris, and the constitution.
In Benjamin's mid 20's, he started to become a successful printer. Ben had tried to write a part of the New England Courant, owned by his brother, but was denied every time. He didn't want to give up that easily though. He started writing letters under the name "Silence Dogood." His work was finally being published into the paper. After a while, he could not bear to work under his brother's apprenticeship anymore and secretly left his brothers apprenticeship, becoming a fugitive.
In 1728, Franklin set up a printing house. He then became the publisher of the Pennsylvania Gazette. The first postal stamps had George Washington and Benjamin Franklin on them. Without Benjamin Franklin, our postal business would not be as successful as it is.
He was the ambassador to France and Sweden. he traveled to France to secure French assistance for the war effort. also created the first public hospital and fire insurance.
benjamin Franklin invented a lot of things his most famous inventions are the lightning rod, franklin ,stove, and bifocals some other less know ones are hand paddle and the franklin's electrostatic machine. the one he is most know for his lightning rod.
He died due to old age and complication from pleurisy. His last major accomplishment was in 1787 constitutional convention in philadelphia. He is also on the $100 dollar bill. He is buried in christ church burial ground in philadelphia pennsylvania and about 20,000 attend his funeral.
