Community Service

Welcome

Welcome to the Community Service page! This page is dedicated to our group doing community service with others to help make the world a better place. Although we volunteer for numerous events, below are our annual volunteer and community service activities.

Vanston Mentoring Programs

Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria Mentoring Plan

The effect from these recent hurricanes leaves kids having to leave their schools and go to schools with strangers. This is scary for them because they do not know anyone. Also, they do not have any clothes, school supplies, and things from home. They are displaced and this can be devastating. The FIRST Robotics Teams are here to support the victims of Hurricane Harvey, Irma and Maria. We hope that helping displaced students to adjust to their new school will make them feel not alone and know that we are here to help with their transition.

Spanish-Speakers Only Mentoring Plan

Many kids come to Texas and can only speak Spanish and not English. They have a hard time doing their classwork, homework, and making friends. This is scary for them because they do not know anyone. Having support from a Spanish-Speaking mentor will help make their transition be much easier.

The mentors on the teams are bilingual students that will assist with tutoring and meeting new friends. We hope that helping Spanish-Speaking only students to adjust to their new school and to let them know that we are here to help with their transition and communicating with others.

Community Outreach

Sharing Life Community Outreach is an organization that demonstrate compassion by effectively and efficiently providing dignified, benevolent services to families in need in Mesquite and Southeastern Dallas County.

When the founder created Sharing life, she had a vision, a spectacular vision where those in need could head over and along with get help, the person can also feel safe, welcomed.

We volunteered our time and also donated 288 bottles of water.
