VikingBot (FLL Team# 23780) & RoboVik (FTC Team# 12764)

This robotic team is a part of the Principles of Applied Engineering class for 8th grade. This is a S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) class that offers a comprehensive hands-on, high-tech program designed to expose students to the wide range of technologies used in today’s industries. One of the main interests is Robotics. Students are required to participate in the FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge. These are competitive worldwide robotic competitions. In preparation, students volunteer and enjoy field trips to enhance their knowledge of robots. To be accepted into the program, students must take and pass the previous year Intro to Applied Engineering class. Students are selected by their teamwork, creativity, innovation, dedication and good behavior.

Vanston Viking Robotics After-School

This is an after-school robotics club for 6th & 7th grade. It is a student-led club with elected officers. Groups meet once a week for 60 minutes. Students learn the fundamentals of building and programming robots for fun! Democratically, members decide on the themes, battles, and competitions within the club. Selected members will have the opportunity to participate in the yearly TCEA Robotics Area and State Competitions.
