Getting Started:

Option 1: Playlist

• • Make a basic playlist template for your class covering objectives and TEKS

  • Based on pre-assessment or formative assessment data students will choose between two paths. (I understand or I’m not there yet)

  • Create a playlist for each path with must-do activities for students to complete asynchronously

  • Students complete their assigned playlist path activities in any order they choose

Option 2: Stations

• • Create stations/activities covering objectives and TEKS

  • Based on pre-assessment or formative assessment data direct students to which stations/activities they will need to complete

  • Students complete their assigned stations/activities in any order they choose

  • Embed pre-assessment or formative assessment activity, provide immediate feedback for students to self-assess their mastery of objectives.

  • Students will choose a learning path based on their self-assessment. 

  • Create learning activities tied to objectives 

  • Students complete their chosen activities at their own pace, in whichever order they decide then re-assess

  • *Make copies of the playlist and customize them for students who need additional scaffolding and those students who need more challenging work.

  • Give pre-assessment or formative assessment activity, provide immediate feedback for students to self-assess their mastery of objectives.

  • Students will determine which stations they need to complete based on their self-assessment. 

  • Students complete their chosen activities at their own pace, in whichever order they decide then re-assess

Consider:

• Build in conference time for students to defend their learning

• Give students choice in activities - interest, path, pace, etc.

• Build collaborative activities

• Include activities that cover PLC questions 3 & 4

• Incorporate goal setting and include a way for students to track their own progress and mastery.

• Include passion based learning options
