Blizzard's Fury attempts to illustrate the power and ferocity of a winter storm. A brief moment of calm is heard at the beginning before the full force of Mother Nature is unleashed in a blinding white rage of snow and wind. Trills represent the gusts of wind that buffet the snowflakes through the air, and the driving rhythms and dark harmonies speak to the destructive power of this weather phenomenon. Quick, take cover! The blizzard approaches!
Question: What comes before Part B?
Answer: PARTAAAAAY!
This setting is an energetic, upbeat medley of several seasonal favorites. From beginning to end, you will hear several familiar melodies including "Jingle Bells" and "Ode to Joy...we'll let YOU figure out the others!

Colors of Christmas is a literal musical "quilt" featuring a number of holiday favorites. This piece begins with heralding bells and chimes introducing a fanfare based on Jingle Bells and Joy to the World. Our musical quilt continues through several different modes and settings before our fanfare returns to conclude the piece. How many melodies can you name?
Named after the arena where bullfights occur, this vibrant paso doble brings the vibrant sound of this grand spectacle to beginning band performances. You'll hear the cheers as the bullfighters enter the stadium and visualize all the color and pageantry that accompany the festivities. Ole!
In this work, the composer has reimagined the jolly old elf as a warrior of the winter wastes. The familiar tunes of Up on the Housetop and Jingle Bells are transformed into a war cry for this incarnation of Santa, as he navigates the snowy desert with his eight mighty reign-deer: Basher, Danger, Lancer, Victim, Bomb-it, Brutis, Runner, and Blitz-Them. On Christmas night, he fights his way across the unforgiving terrain in time to bring toys to all the good children, leaving a path of destruction and candy cane carnage in his wake.

From the opening strains of "Angels We Have Heard on High" to the majestic "Joy to the World," Noel! is a celebration of the season designed to bring happiness to audiences as an energetic opener to a concert.
"Darklands March is a concert march written in a minor mode with slight European influence. The contrasting militaristic first half is in stark contrast to the lyrical trio. It also serves as an excellent work for teaching march style, dotted-eighth/sixteenth note rhythms, and motivic development. Darklands March is the first of several works I intend to write based on my own short stories "The Darklands," about a kingdom of night, darkness, and magic. All of these works will constitute a larger work for concert band, The Darklands Suite.
"God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen," is referred to in Charles Dicken's 1843 novella, A Christmas Carol. This fresh treatment of the perennial favorite provides a variety of moods and styles from ponderous to joyous.

by Leroy Anderson
Sleigh Ride is a light orchestra standard whose music was composed by Leroy Anderson. The composer had formed the original idea for the piece during a heat wave in July 1946, and he finished the work in February 1948. The original recordings were instrumental versions. The lyrics, about riding in a sleigh and other fun wintertime activities, were written by Mitchell Parish in 1950. The orchestral version was first recorded in 1949 by Arthur Fiedler and the Boston Pops Orchestra. A selection of the artists who have recorded it include Herb Alpert, The Andrews Sisters, The Carpenters, Bing Crosby, The Boston Pops Orchestra, Ella Fitzgerald, the amazing Debbie Gibson, The Muppets, and Andy Williams.
