Open Band Hall - Monday, November 3

The band hall will be open tomorrow from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. for students who wish to practice music for the upcoming All-City Band auditions, All-Region Band auditions, and winter music pass-offs. Attendance is not required. Mr. Villegas and Ms. Martinez will be available to help students with performance questions. Students may arrive and leave at any time during this window. Please note, this is a band practice event only—students should be dropped off and picked up at Door 11. 

All-City Band Auditions - Thursday or Friday, November 6 or 7 

Select students from AC New Middle School will audition for a spot in the Mesquite ISD All-City Band, an ensemble featuring top 7th and 8th grade musicians from all 10 middle schools in Mesquite. Each student will complete an individual audition to earn their place in the group.

The audition will take place at Wilkinson Middle School. A one-way bus will be provided from AC New to Wilkinson. Parents may also choose to drop off their students directly at Wilkinson if they prefer.

Students may bring $10.00 to purchase Chick-fil-A before departure, or they may bring their own meal. Please note that no snacks or food will be sold at the event.

Check-in times will be shared soon. Students should arrive at Wilkinson at their assigned time to sign in, receive their audition letter, and be ready to perform. Once students have completed all parts of their audition, they are free to leave. Results will be posted online and shared during class the following school day.

All-Region Band Auditions - Saturday, November 15

A few select students from AC New Middle School will audition for a spot in the TMEA Region 3 All-Region Band. This highly competitive event places students into one of four outstanding bands made up of 7th and 8th graders from across Region 3, which includes schools from Mesquite, Garland, Forney, Rockwall, and Terrell. The audition process will be very similar to what students experienced during the Mesquite ISD All-City Band audition.

The audition will be held at Rockwall-Heath High School in Rockwall. A bus will be provided, and we will be sharing transportation with Woolley Middle School. Families who wish to use the bus option should meet at Woolley MS. More details, including times and logistics, will be shared soon.

All-City Band Clinic & Concert
Thursday-Friday, November 20-21

Details will be provided later when/if your student makes the band. This event will take place at West Mesquite HS.

Sala de ensayos abierta - Lunes 3 de noviembre

Audiciones para la banda All-City

Jueves o viernes, 6 o 7 de noviembre

Los estudiantes de AC New harán una audición para un lugar en la banda All-City de Mesquite ISD. Esta es una banda que está formada por estudiantes de séptimo y octavo grado de las 10 escuelas secundarias de Mesquite. Para ganar un lugar en este grupo, los estudiantes pasarán por un proceso de audición individual.

La audición será en Wilkinson MS. Tendremos un autobús de ida. Los padres pueden dejar a sus estudiantes en Wilkinson MS si lo desean. Los estudiantes pueden traer $10.00 para recibir Chick Fil-A antes de que vayamos a Wilkinson. Los estudiantes pueden traer su propia comida de antemano. No habrá bocadillos ni otros alimentos a la venta en el evento.

Los horarios de inscripción se informarán pronto. Se espera que los estudiantes estén en Wilkinson a la hora indicada para registrarse, recibir su letra de audición y estar listos para tocar cuando sea el momento de hacerlo. Cuando el estudiante haya interpretado todas las partes de su audición, puede irse de Wilkinson. Los resultados se publicarán en línea y se comunicarán durante el siguiente día de clase.

Audiciones para la banda de toda la región

Sábado 15 de noviembre

Algunos estudiantes seleccionados harán una audición para un lugar en la banda de toda la región de TMEA Región 3. Esta es una oportunidad competitiva que coloca a los estudiantes en una de cuatro bandas. Estas bandas están formadas por estudiantes de séptimo y octavo grado de toda la Región 3 (que está formada por escuelas de Mesquite, Garland, Forney, Rockwall y Terrell). Este proceso se parecerá exactamente a lo que experimentó su estudiante para la audición de la banda de toda la ciudad de Mesquite ISD.

La audición será en Rockwall-Heath HS en Rockwall. Se proporcionará un autobús, pero lo compartiremos con Woolley MS; reúnase en Woolley MS si esta es una opción que será necesaria para su familia. Se proporcionarán más detalles más adelante.

Clínica y concierto de la banda de toda la ciudad

Jueves y viernes, 20 y 21 de noviembre

Se proporcionarán detalles más adelante cuando/si su estudiante obtiene un lugar en la banda. Este evento se llevará a cabo en West Mesquite HS.
