Sectionals

Sectionals are section practices

These practices always happen separately from the full band class time. Sectionals allow students to develop intermediate and advanced level skills on their instruments. Most importantly, sectionals allow students to correctly learn their individual parts at their own pace with teacher-guided practice. Attendance is expected and grades are given over material taught during sectionals.

Sectionals are for Honors and Symphonic Band students ONLY

• Students are graded on all music that is taught and learned in sectionals.

• Students who have game days on sectional days can make up their times on Mondays or Tuesdays after school.

• Students who are absent on a sectional day are allowed to make up their times during zero period or on Friday afternoons (by request).

• Students who want/need extra help in addition to their sectional times can practice in the band hall during zero period or on Friday afternoons (by request).

Beginner Band and Concert Band students do not have sectionals
