MJIP Compass is the public-facing platform of the MEF Journal of International Politics (MJIP). Launched in the 2025–26 academic year, Compass brings international politics, economics, and global affairs to a broader audience clearly, concisely, and without unnecessary academic jargon.
While MJIP publishes formal undergraduate academic work, MJIP Compass explains the world: what is happening, why it matters, and how we got here.
MJIP and MJIP Compass are complementary but distinct platforms. MJIP publishes academic articles, literature reviews, policy analyses, and book reviews, while Compass provides short-form commentary and accessible analysis.
MJIP Compass publishes short-form content across four categories:
Clear breakdowns of key concepts, institutions, theories, and terms in international politics, economics, and global affairs.
Accessible analysis of current events, political developments, global crises, elections, conflicts, and economic trends.
Reviews and discussions of academic books, major reports, policy papers, and influential texts.
Historical events, turning points, and political developments explained in relation to contemporary issues.
MJIP Compass content is produced primarily by the MJIP Editorial Board and selected contributors. All pieces undergo editorial review to ensure accuracy, clarity, and accessibility.
Unlike MJIP’s formal academic review process, Compass operates on a flexible, event-driven publication schedule.
