1. What is the organizational structure of MJIP?
With the commencement of MJIP’s new era in the 2025-26 academic year, the journal is managed by an Editorial Board comprising the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, Editors and Associate Editor, supported by an Academic Advisor and an Academic Council composed of MEF University department members and alumni. The Editorial Board oversees daily management and content coordination, while the Academic Advisor ensures adherence to academic standards and supervises plagiarism checks. The Academic Council supports academic quality and alumni networking.
2. How often is MJIP published?
MJIP publishes two issues annually:
Fall Issue (October–December): Submission deadline is the last Sunday of October; publication at the end of December.
Spring Issue (March–June): Submission deadline is the last Sunday of April; publication at the end of June.
3. What types of content does MJIP accept?
MJIP accepts the following types of submissions:
Academic Articles: Original interdisciplinary research in political science, international relations, and economics.
Book Reviews: Critical evaluations of important recent academic works related to current events.
4. What are the submission and formatting guidelines?
Accepted article types: Original research (3000–5000 words), literature reviews and policy analyses (2000–4000 words), book reviews (800–1200 words).
Formatting: Times New Roman, 12 pt, double-spaced, 2.54 cm margins, Microsoft Word (.docx).
Include a title page with article title, author name, affiliation, and contact information.
Abstract (150–200 words) and 5–7 keywords are required.
Use APA 7th edition citation style.
All submissions must be in English.
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited; Turnitin support is provided by the Academic Advisor.
5. How is the review process conducted?
The review process details will be updated soon. Currently, the typical evaluation period is 2–4 weeks, with revision taking 1–2 weeks.
6. How can I submit my article?
Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format via email to mjip@mef.edu.tr. The subject line of the email should clearly state: “MJIP Volume X, Issue Y Article Submission”
When submitting your manuscript in Microsoft Word (.docx) format, the file name must follow the format:
LastName_VolumeNo_IssueNo.docx
Along with the manuscript, authors are required to include a brief biography and contact information. If necessary, authors may revise their manuscripts according to suggested editorial feedback.
7. Does MJIP offer support for authors and editors?
Yes. MJIP organizes research and writing workshops and provides mentorship through the Academic Council to support authors and editors.
8. What is the vision of MJIP?
MJIP aims to be a high-standard, interdisciplinary, institutionalized student journal supporting undergraduate academic work in Türkiye and internationally. It balances academic quality with accessibility and timeliness, fosters a strong alumni network, and reaches a broad audience through academic and popular content.
