"Coastal Evergreen, in order to honor our commitment as guardians of our landscape accounts, will be sending out crew leaders (solo) this week to walk-thru the landscape to identify any landscape issues that need to be addressed (broken branches, leaking irrigation,and to prioritize areas that will need attention once the crews are able to come back in full force).
We are honoring the safe distance policy by only sending out 1 person per truck. Please note that we will not be performing our normal maintenance tasks, but addressing hazards that may be obstructing paths, turning off water to stop leaking irrigation, and notifying management to issues that may need to be reported to customers."
[Summer 2019] The association approved funds to clean up the fire potential weeds and dead wood in our community. Most that was completed October 1 with some leftover for later in the year. A large segment of the work involved the large tree-covered area situated below and behind Dean and Adelheid Courts. This private area, seldom visited by our homeowners, provides a shady, tree-covered area, adjacent to the Stevens creek ideal for a summer picnic. For that reason we've always called it the "Picnic Area". The photos give a view of it. Now, all we need is a Picnic Table.
Swimming Pool will be open on May 10, 2019. All Meadows' neighbors are welcome to come and set up furniture at 10am on Saturday May 11.
The City of Cupertino has delayed installation of the "No Parking" signs on the east side of Scenic Blvd from Dean Ct to the cul-de-sac (the end of street). This change will occur with re-paving Scenic Blvd by the city this summer. The final schedule is pending.
The original proposal for redevelopment of the property at 10234 Scenic Blvd was denied in 2018. The developer is working on a new proposal to be submitted to the Cupertino Planning Department.

STEVENS CREEK TRAIL UPDATE March 26, 2011
In its meeting on March 15, 2011, Cupertino City Council was unable to reach a decision on the location of the trail through the Stocklmeir Orhard immediately to the east of the Meadows. The trail location will be discussed again at the next regular meeting, April 5, 2011, and it is important that as many Meadows residents as possible attend this meeting to support the Meadows Board as it continues to advocate for the previously agreed 100' set back for the trail from the Meadows property line.
Background: The Cupertino City Council met on March 15, 2011 to deal with the location of the trail that has long been planned to cross the city-owned orchard property immediately to the east of the Meadows This trail will connect from the Blackberry Farm Park area to Stevens Creek Boulevard and will be open to the public for walking and bicycling.
The exact location of the trail within the Stocklmeir orchard has been the subject of many years of study and controversy. Back in 2005, Meadows residents John Buenz and Ann Cleaver were instrumental in securing a trail set back of 100' from our property line to protect our privacy and security. This set back was agreed to in 2005 by a formal Cupertino City Council vote. However, that agreement could be changed by the current council.
Layout of the original trail alignment proposed by the city planners. It is generally acceptable to us. The TAN line is the base trail design. It crosses the creek near the golf course’s 8th hole and meanders through the orchard.
Currently, the City is under pressure to construct the trail, and to improve conditions along the creek between the Stocklmeir orchard and Blackberry Farm Golf Course. A previously awarded grant for the work will expire in the next few months if the City does not take action to complete the work in 2013.
Despite the previous set-back agreement, there are many competing interests and the trail location remains controversial. The City had hoped to resolve this location on March 15, 2011. Several Meadows residents attended the meeting. Our Association President, Robert George and John Buenz both spoke. Unfortunately, the information presented to the Council by the City Staff was insufficient for them to reach a decision. Council will discuss the matter again on April 5, 2011, hopefully for a final decision. City Staff agreed to bring more complete information to this meeting.
Not withstanding the lack of detailed information, discussions at the March 15 meeting were extensive and ranged from trail options that are quite near our fence line to an option that places the trail on the east side of Stevens Creek essentially along the edge of the golf course. The Council appeared not to favor either of these extremes, but did not say so formally. Instead, by approved formal motion, they sent the matter back to City Staff, asking that staff return on April 5 with the following:
1) Information regarding moving the bridge (which will bring the trail across the creek from the golf course side into the orchard) as far upstream as possible toward the old pump house that still stands near our property line. This action, if implemented, would bring parts of the trail significantly closer than 100' to the George residence;
2) Propose a trail location within the orchard that honors a 50' set-back from the creek and goes no closer to the Meadows property line than between the second and third rows of orchard trees. (The distance from our property line to a point halfway between the second and third rows of trees is about 90'.) This second requirement for staff is supposed to be accomplished with input from, among others, representatives from our homeowners;
3) Explain how the trail would be terminated safely at exit of the Stocklmeir driveway onto Stevens Creek Blvd.; and finally
4) Provide cost estimates.
So, homeowners, the important thing to remember is that almost anything could happen at the April 5 City Council meeting. It will be held in the City Council Chambers next to the Library. A good turnout of homeowners at that meeting will help our cause. Please consider coming. The agenda should be available about March 31
