moving up ceremony commences for junior high school completers of BATCH 2022-2023 

Malate Catholic School held a moving up ceremony for the Grade 10 completers, batch 2022-2023.

On June 13, 2023, Grade 10 students of Malate Catholic School and Ermita Catholic School held their moving up ceremony at the Jaime Cardinal Sin Gymnasium with the theme, “Grade 10 Completers Molded and Formed Through Resilient and Catholic Educational Foundation.” Ms. Ludina M. Lopez was the master of ceremonies for the event.


The program started with the students' processional, which was shortly followed by the processional of advisers, non-teaching personnel, faculty, and administrators. 


An opening prayer was led by Vincent Andre B. Namuag, with high honors, from St. Cecilia of Rome. Following this, the Malatean Scouts of the Philippines executed the Entrance of Colors. The ceremony proceeded with the singing of the National Anthem led by the MCS Glee Club. Aira Mae I. Lao, with high honors, from St. Agatha of Sicily, gave the welcome address. 


The presentation of candidates for completion was carried out by Ms. Marilou M. Lunar, together with Mr. Eduardo R. Salamera. After this was the confirmation of candidates for completion by Rev. Fr. Elpidio D. Biliran Jr., wherein a total of 158 students from Malate Catholic School, 10 students from Ermita Catholic School, and 20 students from MCS Night High School were eligible to move up from Grade 10 to Grade 11. Subsequently, the conferring of certificates of completion and awards for each student was made by Rev. Fr. Elpidio D. Biliran Jr. and Rev. Fr. Solomon A. Jardinero. They were assisted by Ms. Marilou M. Lunar and presented by their respective advisers. 


Nearing the end of the ceremony, words of gratitude were given by Koreen F. Bagapuro, with high honors, from St. Lucy of Syracuse. The Grade 10 completers then sang their moving-up song titled “Standing Proud.” An audio-visual video was prepared for the completers which showcased their memories together. The students also sang the MCS Hymn that was shortly followed by the closing prayer led by Andrea Bea M. Llanes, with high honors, from St. Agnes of Rome.


The Exit of Colors was executed by the Malatean Scouts of the Philippines and the ceremony concluded after the recessional for the students. Students taking photos at the photo booth and around the gymnasium took place after the ceremony ended.
