Nothing beats the feelings of relaxation and peace throughout the days of summer vacation, until the reality of going back to school hits. The days where you just enjoy go by fast, and the next thing you know, you are counting down the days for school — an experience students have grown accustomed to; and yet the feeling of dread and worry are still there as the big day approaches.

The remaining weeks of the summer break is the turning point for the lives of some students. Making sure they are enrolled, shopping for new school supplies and fixing their body clock are some back-to-school rituals students do. To some, these rituals are done earlier in order to get back into the school mood, while others tend to get too hung up on their vacation to notice how close it is to being over.

The school does its best to motivate students and reignite the passion of inquiry and learning. The student coordinating board and the school’s official student publication present different ways to remind the students of the upcoming date and what should be expected. Quirky social media posts by these organizations and the school fill the students’ timeline, as a way to spark excitement in the students' hearts.

The first day of school is usually perceived as a bad thing because summer has officially ended and school pressure will start to set in. Laziness and anxiety may consume the students, and the feeling that summer break ended abruptly is somewhat unanimous. Despite all these, the resumption of classes is the symbol of a new beginning and will be the reignition of the students' perseverance and passion for their future.

The resumption of classes also acts as a symbol of similarity and complexion. Whether it be graduating from grade school to high school or the moving up of grade levels, we are all faced with challenges and situations that have been experienced and succeeded by past generations.

The journey ahead will be undoubtedly challenging. With new tasks, situations, and responsibilities at hand, we must not falter and doubt our abilities. The resumption of classes is simply the starting line to another race against ourselves. The finish line will be the future we choose by giving it our all. So despite all the doubts, worries, and thoughts in our head, it is still a key point in our life. A new chapter for most, the last few chapters for some, but ultimately the path everyone will have to take.
