MCS KICKS OFF THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR WITH A WELCOME PROGRAM

Malate Catholic School kicks off the school year 2024-2025 with a Welcome Program at the Jaime Cardinal Sin Gymnasium on July 22, 2024.

July 22, 2024, 7 a.m. - Malate Catholic School held an opening program to mark the beginning of the school year 2024-2025 with Mr. Avel Dela Cruz and Ms. Marinel Morales as hosts. 

The program officially started with the morning praise led by Michael Cuevas and Ania Avendaño, along with a Gospel reading and reflection given by Mr. Philip Bongcahig, campus minister.


The program continued with the morning exercise led by the SCB officers, followed by a performance by the MCS Band. Ms. Marilou Lunar, the school principal, formally welcomed everyone afterward.

The first performance was from Antoinette Mendoza where she sang “Me Too” by Meghan Trainor. Followed by a dance performance from the Malatean Movers. Benedict S. Duran followed for the third and fourth performances with singing and a piano performance. Then, the SCB President, Adia Dizon Avendaño, gave the closing remarks, ending with the statement “Here’s to a school year filled with growth, learning, and unforgettable memories.” Finally, the last performance was from the MCS Glee Club, leading the entire gymnasium in the song “Welcome to the Family." 

The program ended with a short promotional video for the school and the singing of the MCS hymn. HS students stayed in the gym for some announcements while the grade school and SHS students headed to the campus for their class orientations.
