At 11 AM, the graduating batch of the school year 2022-2023 attended the Baccalaureate Mass in Malate Catholic Church on May 31, 2023, as the school year comes to an end.

The mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Elpidio D. Biliran Jr., with Rev. Fr. Solomon A. Jardinero as co-celebrant. It was also live-streamed through the Cluster 8 School Facebook page for others to attend the mass at home.

Rev. Fr. Boy started his homily by saying it is a “beautiful coincidence that we chose this day for our Thanksgiving day, which is the Feast of the Visitation,” as the day was also the Feast of the Visitation of Mary. He further expounded that “because of her [Mary] humility and openness, the greatest thing that would ever happen in the world became a reality.”

“Ang biyaya ng Diyos ay papuri sa Diyos, hindi papuri sa sarili,” (The grace of God is a praise to God, not a praise to oneself) he said, referring to the skills and talents God has given to the people. Hence, Fr. Boy further spoke of the very essence of education, which is to prepare students to be of service to their community and God. He said that professions should not be for selfish desires but for one’s “role in building society.”

Fr. Boy also reminded, “you can never go wrong if your life choices are God-centered.” He added, “There may be instances when you succumb to the easy way of committing sins against humanity and consequently against God, but always call to Jesus to help.”

He ended his homily by congratulating and blessing everyone, especially the graduates. “Always choose to be happy and stay happy,” Fr. Boy expressed.

The mass ended with a Thanksgiving Prayer for the graduating Grade 6 and 12 students. The parents also recited the Parents’ Prayer of Thanksgiving, which was then followed by the blessing of the diplomas, certificates, and medals.
