April 24, 2023 was the first day of Wellness Week. Malate Catholic School, particularly the Student Coordinating Board, organized several events for the start of the Wellness Week around campus and in the Jaime Cardinal Sin Gymnasium. Students in both sets and ODL (Online Distance Learning) modality were invited to join the four-day activity.

Together with their respective advisers, the wellness week started with students in all grade levels parading around the Remedios Circle in the morning. The students proceeded straight to the Jaime Cardinal Sin Gymnasium for the Holy Mass and program.

The Mass was presided by Rev. Fr. Elpidio “Boy” Biliran Jr. In his homily, Fr. Boy emphasized the significance of physical well-being. He stated that being well in the body is being well spiritually.

A program followed the mass. Michael Xyrus Cuevas, a student in grade 7, led the program's opening prayer. The Girl Scouts of the Philippines executed the Entrance of Colors, which was followed by the Glee Club leading the singing of the National Anthem. Then, the principal of Malate Catholic School, Ms. Marilou Lunar, gave her welcoming remarks.

Each assembly was given time to present the chants they had prepared. Following this, the MCS Band finally performed again after 3 years. Gabrielle Tan, a Grade 10 student, led the oath to self-care and well-being.

The formal opening of wellness week was declared by the Passing of Torch and Ceremonial Ball Tossing with Mr. Renzo Fabon, Rev. Fr.  Elpidio "Boy" Biliran, Marilou Lunar, and chosen basketball players.

As the program was closing, teachers and students joined in a Zumba dance led by a selected number of grade 11 students. The MCS Hymn was sung to close out the program.

After the program, the Grade 10 and Grade 12 Assemblies had the Exhibition Games in the gymnasium. Different games from various assemblies were played and several booths were opened throughout the rest of the day.
