Computer Science & Technology Education

There are THREE courses at Wootton that fill that requirement:

• Foundations of Computer Science (also offered online and over the summer by MCPS)

• Making FOr Engineers e4usa

• AP Computer Science Principles

• Want to focus on coding and making software?

  • Take Computer Programming 1

• Want to be combine art and design with web technologies?

  • Take Web Development

• Want to learn to build and troubleshoot computers and get your hands on physical components?

  • Take IT Essentials

• Tech Credit - 1 required for graduation:

  • Foundations of Computer Science (FOCS - a Tech Credit)

  • AP Computer Science Principles (AP CSP - a Tech Credit)

• Electives:

  • Computer Programming 1 (elective)

  • Web Development (elective)

  • IT Essentials (elective)

No - all IT and CS courses run the entire year (2 semesters) and semester B of each course requires passing semester A as a prerequisite.
