02 - Central Scholarship - scholarships range from $1,000 to $11,000; U.S. citizen or permanent resident; Maryland resident; have a GPA of 2.8 or higher to be competitive; plan to attend an accredited college, university, or community college in the upcoming academic year; essay.
02 - Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE) Scholarship - 3-$1,500 awards; senior; Maryland resident; accepted by, or currently applying to a college or university for an undergraduate or associate degree; must be pursuing or planning to pursue a degree related to the environment (Majors could include environmental studies, environmental education, and environmental sciences (e.g. conservation biology, natural resources, environmental engineering, sustainability, and climate change solutions)); demonstrate a passion for the environment, green schools leadership, community leadership, or advocacy; personal statement (passion for environment); evidence of leadership (Green School/Green Team, Scouts, Community Activity, Volunteerism, Advocacy); short answer response to a question about the environment.
08 - AFCEA DC Scholarship Program - senior; U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; plan to enroll full-time in a four-year STEM degree program at a U.S.-accredited college or university in an eligible field of study, including: Computer Science, Engineering (all disciplines), Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Cybersecurity, Management Information Systems (MIS), Command, Control, Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I)-related fields of study (see website for full list); extracurricular and volunteer activities; personal statement describing your interest in STEM and future goals; financial need statement outlining anticipated costs, expected contributions, and funding gaps; two letters of recommendation submitted through the application system; note: winners of full tuition scholarships are not eligible.
08 - Ophelia Foundation Scholarships - five $1,000 awards; graduating senior from a high school in the DMV (DC/MD/VA) area; minimum grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale; U.S. citizen; accepted as a full-time and first-term matriculating freshman at an accredited college or university (excluding the Army, Navy, or Air Force Academy) or an accredited two-year community college at the time the award is presented; planning to pursue a baccalaureate degree; eligible for the scholarship award as determined by the donor’s criteria (refer to the scholarship description for each award for specific criteria).
13 - Stossel in the Classroom Essay Contest - awards of up to $2,500; grades 9-12; submit and essay and/or video addressing one of four prompts; students whose submissions reach the final phase of judging must take part in brief remote interviews to discuss their essays; students must have some availability during the week of May 17-23.
13 - Ivy Vine Charities Scholarships - senior; cumulative grade point average of 2.7 or above on a 4.0 scale documented on an official transcript; plan to attend a four-year university or college, or a community college; evidence of participation in school and community activities; record of Student Service Learning (SSL) hours; submit three pieces of evidence, including letters of achievement and certificates of merit highlighting involvement in academics, sports, clubs, student government, etc; essay.
15 - Zaching Against Cancer Foundation Spirit Award Scholarships - six $2,500 awards; senior; minimum 3.0 GPA; plan to attend a two or four-year university or trade school within the following calendar year of receipt of the scholarship; must have overcome some sort of significant hardship, medical challenge, and/or family issue relating to cancer during their life; essay; three Nomination Forms; transcript; letter of recommendation (optional but encouraged).
15 - Dorothy Marvil Scholarship - $2,500 scholarships; graduating high school senior; minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA; can be used for tuition at a four-year university, community college, technical college or trade school; applications will only be accepted from United States residents who will be attending a school located in the United States; applicants are only eligible to apply for one scholarship per year from the Support Education Foundation.
15 - Rosemary Brinkley Business and Finance Scholarship - $2,500 scholarships; graduating high school senior; minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA; can be used towards earning a degree in business, finance or a related field at a four-year university or community college; applications will only be accepted from United States residents who will be attending a school located in the United States; applicants are only eligible to apply for one scholarship per year from the Support Education Foundation.
15 - Vocational Education Scholarship (Graduating High School Senior) - $1,500 scholarships; graduating high school senior; minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA; planning to attend a vocational school in Maryland as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours); applicants are only eligible to apply for one scholarship per year from the Support Education Foundation.
20 - Kappa Youth & Community Foundation Scholarships - senior; African American male student of color living in Montgomery County; min 2.5 GPA; accepted to college as a full-time student and will be enroll for the next semester; active in extra-curricular activities or work-related activity; college acceptance letter; transcript; essay; two letters of recommendation; a current photo.
26 - Quest Bridge College Prep Scholars Program - get a head start to a top college with scholarships, awards, and resources designed to help you stand out in college admissions; high school juniors, regardless of citizenship, currently attending high school in the U.S., and U.S. Citizens and Permanent Residents living abroad; earning primarily A’s in the most challenging courses offered; demonstrating strong writing skills and intellectual curiosity, plus resilience, integrity, and motivation to succeed; typically from a household earning less than $65,000 annually with minimal assets (for a household of four members).

We understand that paying for college is not easy. There are many scholarships available to students for some extra financial aid. Your best resource is to meet with your College & Career Information Coordinator. These professionals will help guide you in your search for scholarships and answer any questions you may have. I have included a list of scholarship links and applications below for your convenience.
**REMEMBER - When searching, it is very important to read all scholarship requirements carefully to determine if you are eligible. You do not want to put time and effort into completing an application for a scholarship that you are not eligible to win.

Also, keep in mind that some scholarship applications may require a letter of recommendation from a teacher or responsible adult. Pay attention to deadlines and give these people at least two weeks to complete this part of the application for you.

NCAA Eligibility Center
You need to be certified by the NCAA Eligibility Center to compete at an NCAA Division I or II school. Create a Certification Account and on the NCAA website and they will guide you through the process.
§ You need to create a Certification Account to make official visits to Divisions I and II schools or to sign a National Letter of Intent.
§ Students with financial need may qualify for a fee waiver. Reach out to Mr. Nalda or your counselor for more information.
Create a free Profile Page if you plan to compete at a Division III school or are not yet sure where you want to compete.
§ You'll get an NCAA ID, and they will send you important reminders as you complete high school.
