On Sept. 12, Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy opened an impeachment inquiry into U.S. President Joe Biden. The decision came after weeks of pressure from far-right congress people, who threatened to remove McCarthy from office if he disagreed with their deep spending cuts.
