Students are assigned a Chromebook by MCPS. Students should bring their MCPS Chromebook to school everyday with a full charge in a carrying case.
During the first week of school, our staff will work to provide each student an MCPS Chromebook.
Incoming 6th grade students will receive a MCPS Chromebook on Tuesday or Wednesday during the first week of school.
7th and 8th grade students should bring their previously assigned MCPS Chromebook with them to school. If a 7th or 8th grader is a NEW student or has a lost or broken chromebook, they will get a chromebook on Wednesday during the first week of school.
Only MCPS Chromebooks should be used at school (no personal Chromebooks or laptops).
LPMS will have ONLY ONE loaner chromebook and charger per classroom. Our loaner supply is limited, so it is very important that each student bring their own device, charged, each day.
Review the MCPS Chromebook Policies here (2nd page). All lost and damaged chargers and chromebooks (broken trackpad, keys, and screens) WILL incur charges (from $27.50 - $350).
We recommend the following school supplies for each LPMS student:
#2 Pencils (12 pack)
Pens, black (6 pack)
3-ring dividers, 5 tab (1 pack)
Filler paper, 100 sheets wide-rule (1 pack)
1" or 2" 3-Ring binder
2 Pocket folders
Colored pencils (12 pack)
Pencil pouch for 3-ring binder
Highlighters (6 pack)
Headphones or earbuds (not wireless) for listening to audio or video on their Chromebook when directed by a teacher or staff member.
Umbrella and/or raincoat. We encourage all students to continue to walk or take the bus to school when it rains. Handling inclement weather is an important life skill.
Each LPMS student will receive an agenda book (pictured).
Agenda books are powerful tools for middle school students.
Agenda books:
are expected to be taken home and come to school each day.
should be used to record assignments/homework in each class - if there are no assignments, a student should write “none”.
provide school-to-home communication - parents can monitor assignments each day by checking the agenda book.
support student organization as a daily planner.
