Gates Scholarship Application

The Gates Scholarship (TGS) is a highly selective, last-dollar scholarship for outstanding high school seniors from low-income households. Each year, the scholarship is awarded to exceptional student leaders, with the intent of helping them realize their maximum potential. 

Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the Student Aid Index, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), or the methodology used by a Scholar's college or university. 

Basic Eligibility:

A high school senior

Pell-eligible

A US citizen or permanent resident

In good academic standing with a minimum cumulative weighted GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)

Ideal Candidate:

An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class)

Demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities)

Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.)

2026 United States Senate Youth Program

The 65th annual United States Senate Youth Program Washington Week will be in Washington, D.C. March 6 – 13, 2027. The national deadline for all states to submit their delegate selections is December 1, 2026. Two student leaders from each state, the District of Columbia and the Department of Defense Education Activity will spend a week in Washington experiencing their national government in action. Students must be actively serving in high-level elected or appointed leadership positions to qualify to apply (see How to Apply).

Student delegates will hear major policy addresses by Senators, Cabinet Members, officials from the Departments of State and Defense and directors of other federal agencies, as well as usually participate in meetings with the President and a Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. All transportation, hotel and meal expenses will be provided by The Hearst Foundations. In addition, each delegate will also be awarded a $12,500 college scholarship for undergraduate studies, with encouragement to pursue coursework in history and political science. COCA COLA SCHOLARS PROGRAM

 Each year, the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation awards 150 college scholarships worth $20,000 to high school students across the United States through the Coca-Cola Scholars Program. Students need to be graduating high school during the 2026-2027 school year, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and to complete an online application that requires no essays, no recommendations, and no transcript  Due by 5:00pm eastern time on September 30, 2025.
