The Hagan Scholarships:
The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate from college debt-free. Parents’ Adjusted Household Income must not exceed $125,000. The scholarship provides $1,000 to help purchase essential items for college and up to $7,500 each semester for up to 8 consecutive semesters. Free workshops, free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and free Study Abroad opportunities provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Hagan Scholars have attended 745 colleges and universities located in all 50 states and the District of Columbia and have studied abroad in 64 countries.

BURGER KING SCHOLARS
Created in memory of Burger King Co-founder James “Jim” W. McLamore, the Burger King Scholars program has awarded nearly $60 million in scholarships to over 51,000 high school students, BK® employees and their families across North America since 2000. In 2025 alone, the Foundation awarded over $4.8 million in scholarships to nearly 4,500 students.
Scholarship grants range from $1,000 to $60,000 and are intended to help students offset the cost of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Recipients are selected based on their grade point average (GPA), work experience, extracurricular activities and community service.

VT Pamplin Leadership Award
If you are considering VT next year, take a look at the Pamplin Leadership Award: https://honorscollege.vt.edu/Scholarships/recruitment.html (scroll down to the Pamplin Scholars Program tab). The $5,000 one-year, merit-based academic scholarship acknowledges students who demonstrate superior intellectual promise, academic performance, dedication to their communities, interest and success in physical fitness and health, and unimpeachable integrity. Applicants must have a 3.8 or better GPA. (This award/scholarship is for any VT freshmen, not only for Pamplin Business students.)
BHS may nominate one student for the award. If you are interested in being the BHS nominee please inform your counselor by December 1. If you are selected as the BHS nominee you will receive information on how to apply for the award.
DEADLINE: TBD (This is the internal BHS deadline to submit interest in being the BHS nominee by contacting your counselor.)
