In 8th Grade Orchestra, students study more challenging music to further their playing technique in preparation for high school. The skills of vibrato and shifting are further practiced and refined. Additionally, students study more advanced bowings and finger patterns. In the spring, 8th graders partake in a special field trip opportunity.

Perform alone and within an ensemble, utilizing appropriate playing technique in relation to various musical styles.
Read and notate music using up to three sharps and three flats in multiple time signatures, including mixed meter.
Increase proficiency with shifting, vibrato, and advanced bowings.
