How to Apply
The McLaren Greater Lansing General Surgery Residency Program only accepts applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper applications or emailed applications will not be accepted.

Minimum Requirements
Minimum requirements to be considered for an interview include:
- U.S. Citizen or hold a valid green card
- MGL does not sponsor or accept visa candidates
- Passing score on first attempt of all USMLE/COMLEX scores
- minimum COMLEX Step 1 score = 510
- minimum USMLE Step 1 score = 225
- Completion of medical school within 4 years, no educational related extensions
Documents required to be considered for an interview include:
- Complete ERAS Application
- Deans letter (after October 1)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- 3 or more letters of recommendation
- Personal Statement
- COMLEX/USMLE
- Passing scores for Step 1 and both parts of Step 2 are required prior to the rank list due date.
Please note: The General Surgery Residency Program only participates in the NRMP match and will not accept candidates outside of the match process.
