A few weeks into the school year, your child will begin bringing home books from the Glen Oaks library. We encourage students to keep their library books in their backpacks throughout the week. When reading at home, please remind your child to return the books to their backpack to ensure they are safely brought back to school.
To help protect library books from damage, please keep them separate from water bottles or any other items that might leak inside your child’s backpack.
If a library book is lost or damaged, please contact your child’s teacher or our school librarian to discuss the replacement cost.
Our class visits the library once a week. During these visits, students will return their current books and choose new ones. Kindergarteners are encouraged to pick books that interest them rather than focusing on reading level, so your child may need support reading these books at home.
Thank you for partnering with us to nurture your child’s love of reading and care for our library materials!
