Grading System

PLEASE watch to see how your child earns a grade in Kindergarten.

We have made a short video that describes in a little more detail MISD’s grading system and a small breakdown of our report cards. Remember, Mckinney’s grading system is not like receiving an A, B, C, or D. If a child receives a 3 it generally means that they understand the taught concepts and can do them independently and consistently, so obviously this is the goal. A 4 means that they understand it at a higher level. A 2 means that they need teacher support (and think about it, what 5 year old doesn’t need support?). And a 1 means that even with teacher support the student is not showing understanding of the concept.
