Justin Espinal.
Hello everyone, my name is Justin Espinal, and I am a proud alumnus of Middle College High School at LaGuardia Community College. I am currently attending John Jay College of Criminal Justice, pursuing a BA in Forensic Psychology with a minor in Sociology.
My favorite memory, from my time in MCHS is playing on the basketball team. The most fun times came during the season. Trains, buses with teammates and we played all over NYC.
My advice to current students is to get involved, explore different opportunities, and make the most of your time at Middle College because those experiences can help shape your future.
I currently work in law enforcement and serve as a Sergeant in the NYPD Cadet Corps, Deputy Chief of Staff for the John Jay Student Council, and Treasurer of the Dominican Student Association. During high school, I served as Captain of the baseball team, Head House Representative, Yearbook Committee member, and National Honor Society member .
MCHS is dedicated to key strategic pillars for student success:
Building Future Travelers and Leaders: We prepare our graduates to navigate complex global landscapes, equipped with critical thinking, effective communication, and collaborative skills that are essential for leadership in any field.
Cultivating Responsible Citizens: Through a commitment to social-emotional learning (SEL) and community engagement, we instill in our students a strong sense of responsibility, empathy, and a desire to contribute positively to their communities and the world.
Ensuring Unmatched Head Starts: Our Early College program, coupled with the individualized support of our Teacher Counselor model, provides our students with an unparalleled advantage, preparing them to enter four-year universities as sophomores or juniors, or even with an Associate Degree, giving them a significant head start on their chosen career paths.
Fostering Initiative and Self-Efficacy: We empower students to take ownership of their learning and personal growth, encouraging independent thinking, problem-solving, and a proactive approach to their academic and career trajectories.
