one color self-portraits
First graders started this school year with a monochromatic self-portrait, orange color. Students then worked on their sketchbook cover design for this year's new sketchbook.
some students made the cover design on a separate piece of paper then glue it on the cover, some worked directly on the sketchbook cover.
Grade 1-5 students made a large Kandinsky inspired concentric circle collage for our library. Please come to the library to see the large collage on display.
Students learned about a Dutch artist named Piet Mondrian who uesd mostly primary colors, black, white, striaght angles, and lines to create the most amazing artworks!
Students practiced color mixing using only primary colors to produce secondary colors, then they created a silhouette image to trace over each color swatch and arrange them into the rainbow color order.
