Important Information for Semester I Practical Nursing Students: Please read carefully.
Semester I (sometimes referred to as "Level One") Practical Nursing is composed of the following courses:
NRSPN 301 Fundamentals of Nursing
NRSPN 302 Nursing Skills
NRSPN 303 Nursing Pharmacology
NRSPN 304 Introduction to Clinical Practice

Stethoscope (with bell and diaphragm)
MATC student uniform (2)
MATC ID badge (in a protective clip-on cover; no lanyard)
MATC embroidered logo on uniform top
Bandage Scissors
Black ballpoint ink pens
Penlight
Watch with a second hand
Basic calculator
Optional (check with your instructor): Blood Pressure Cuff: Adult size, Gait Belt, Clipboard, PPE items such as goggles.
Recommended: Backpack, three ring binder, highlighters, notepaper
Direct communication by students with clinical/field placement facilities to inquire regarding clinical/field placement is not allowed.
All students, please be aware of the following:
Once final grades are posted for the current semester, MATC reserves the right to move any student from one section to another based on section enrollment.
No special requests for clinical sites or campus location will be accepted.
There will be space available in all courses for students in good standing to continue in the program but you must register by the deadline.
Students who have any expired requirements or requirements not uploaded onto Castle Branch will not be able to attend any nursing courses (theory or clinical).
All records contained in Castle Branch must remain current throughout the semester. Therefore, take the time prior to the start of the semester to plan for/update any requirements due to expire.
All nursing courses utilize Blackboard. Please check your Blackboard course regularly for updates and announcements, including information about Clinical Orientation.
