Readmission Policy

Please read carefully

A student who receives an unsatisfactory (a grade less than C+) final grade or a withdrawal (“W”) in a single nursing course, and has no additional final unsatisfactory (a grade less than C+) grades or withdrawals (“W”) amongst their nursing courses, may repeat that same course in the subsequent semester, based on space availability.  Students who fail or withdraw from a nursing course are considered “out of sequence.”

A student who receives an unsatisfactory final grade (a grade less than C+) and/or a withdrawal (“W”) twice in the same nursing course or in two different nursing courses is deemed “program ineligible” and will not be permitted to continue in the indicated Healthcare Pathway program.

Please note:  If you have already applied for, and been readmitted to the nursing program in the past, any further unsatisfactory grades (a grade less than C+)” or withdrawal (“W”) in your nursing courses renders the student as program ineligible.

Students who are deemed ineligible for the program will not have the ability to register for nursing courses.  The student must withdraw from any program courses they are registered for but are no longer eligible to take.  Please go into Self Service and withdraw from those courses.

Program ineligibility may affect a student’s financial aid. Please contact the financial aid office for further information. Program ineligible students will not be eligible to receive a Letter of Good Standing from the Healthcare Pathway.

If the student wishes, they may apply for readmission to the program one time.  Program ineligible students will “sit out” a semester as they go through the process of readmission.  In other words, students are out of the program during the semester in which they are appealing.  You should refer to the Healthcare Pathway Student Handbook.

Note: A student who is dismissed from a Healthcare Pathway program due to violation of safety and/or professional standards is not eligible to apply for readmission.

Readmission Procedure

The first step in the readmission process is to speak with a healthcare pathway advisor and/or academic life coach who will provide assistance and guidance in completing the request form, and answer any questions you may have.

Decisions are made by the readmission committee consisting of the primary nursing leadership team. Students are notified of the committee decisions by March 31st for the Fall semester start and by October 31st for the Spring semester readmission.  Students are notified by letter or email of the decision.

Also important:

Students are notified of the committee decisions by March 20th, or October 20th, to allow the student to submit an LPN petition application by the March 31st, or October 31st, petition deadline for the LPN program.  If the student does not submit a petition application by the deadline they must wait until the following petition window.
