Painting I explores techniques, concepts, and processes that will expand a student’s creativity, problem solving, and communication skills. Students will grow their technical skills painting in traditional media including acrylic and watercolor as well digital painting in Procreate on an iPad Pro.

GRADES: 9,10,11,12

Painting II students explore new techniques, media, & processes while creating works traditionally and digitally in Procreate. Creativity, problem solving, and communication skills are again a focus of this course as students work through prompts while refining design and compositional skills.

Drawing & Painting III students will continue to develop their voice as an artist working through prompts to expand their creativity, problem solving, and communication skills. Students will refine and grow their technical skills in media of their choice while continuing to improve upon design and composition. Traditional and digital media options will be available for use. Self motivation and goal setting skills provide a framework for a process of creation, presentation, and reflection. Students should leave this course with a portfolio of work for post-secondary education and scholarship consideration.
