CERAMICS 1
Students will have the opportunity to develop a basic knowledge of ceramics, handbuilding, and an introduction to wheel work. The course encompasses all ceramics related skills. Activities will be individualized according to the ability level of each student.
CERAMICS 2
Students will have the opportunity to develop an “in depth” knowledge of and applied skills in the art of ceramics. Wheel techniques will be fully explored, as well as many sculptural and glazing techniques. Activities will be individualized according to the ability level of each student.
CERAMICS 3
Students will continue to develop their personal style and artistic vision through the use of ceramics and sculpture techniques. This full year course allows students to dive deeply into their artwork. Students will be strongly encouraged to develop a portfolio that can be used for post secondary application to art school or for scholarships. Students will continue the method of art production in Ceramics which includes creativity, design, presenting their work, responding to other ceramics/sculptural artwork and connecting to the 3 dimensional art world. Self motivation and goal setting skills provide a framework for productive art making.
